How to Create a YouTube Account
To upload a video to YouTube, you need a Google account. If you already have a Gmail address, you already have a YouTube account.
Step 1: Check if you already have an account
- Go to youtube.com
- Click Sign in (top right)
- Try signing in with your Gmail email and password
- If this works, you’re all set — no need to create a new account
Step 2: Create a Google / YouTube account (if needed)
- Go to accounts.google.com
- Click Create account
- Follow the steps to enter your name, email, and password
- Once created, go to youtube.com and sign in with this account
That’s it — you now have a YouTube account.
How to Upload Your Video to YouTube
Step 1: Sign in to YouTube
- Go to youtube.com
- Make sure you are signed in (your profile icon will appear in the top right)
Step 2: Start the upload
- Click the Create button (camera icon with a +) in the top right
- Select Upload video
Step 3: Upload your video file
- Click Select files
- Choose the video file from your computer or phone
- The upload will begin automatically
Step 4: Add basic details
- Add a title (your name + assignment name is enough)
- You do not need to add a description (optional)
- Click Next through the following screens
- You can leave all optional settings unchanged
Step 5: Set visibility to Unlisted (important)
- When asked about visibility, select Unlisted
- Unlisted means only people with the link can view the video
- Click Save
Step 6: Copy your video link
- After saving, YouTube will show you a link
- Click Copy
- Paste this link into the submission field in the learning portal
Final Check
Video visibility is Unlisted
Link opens and plays the video
Link is pasted correctly in the portal
Once this is done, you can book your video review session using the booking link provided.
